I wouldn't call myself a TV junkie but when I get the opportunity to sit down and vegetate on the couch away from the wife and kids, I don't mind spending a few hours staring at idiot box. Nevertheless, one of the most idiotic commercials that I've witnessed this year is the 2014 Nissan Altima Migration commercial. The commercial starts off with an absent minded fellow who comes across a little yellow bird minding his own damn business and eating nuts and berries away. Magically, Captain Doofus captures the bird, burns rubber out of the driveway and kicks rocks up on his "BRAND-NEW 2014 ALTIMA" and convinces his "lemming mentality" wife to drive easily over 1600 miles to Monument Valley Park in Arizona to release a bird?! Can you say "cray cray!" The issue I have with this commercial is the bird did not ask to be imprisoned, starved, dehydrated and possibly physically and psychologically abused from "shaken baby syndrome" during it's a 24 hours in a cardboard box. We have no idea why the bird was still there in Central Michigan in the middle of winter. As a matter fact, why would anybody be in Central Michigan in the middle of winter? More than likely the bird was out handling business because he got some pigeon in Detroit knocked up and he was doing what he could hold up his end of the bargain. Now "Tweety Bird" is posted up in the middle of the desert with the foggiest idea of where the hell he is and at the very same moment Peggy the pigeon from Detroit is in front of the courthouse steps going to the state to hit him up for child support! Thank you Captain Doofus for your mindless ambitions and NO this commercial does NOT make me want to buy a Nissan!
Next, one of the commercials I give the biggest props to is featuring the dynamic 80s rap duo Salt-N-Peppa. My shorties step up on the scene straight weavealicious in their leather jackets, dukey gold chains, bamboo earrings and tight spandex. Like...Yeaaaeh! From the looks of the commercial it musta been shot in Southern California and not New York City, but it's all good because every spot they go, they shut it down. As a matter fact, the funniest part of the commercial is when they get "fierce" on the elevator. Make sure you peep out Pepa's facial expressions it was epic. Overall Salt-N-Peppa look great and my girl Spinderella still sexy and was killing them on the 1's and 2's.
